Our 1-to-1 Tuition
In addition to our online school, Club 11 Plus also offers a limited number of 1-to-1 online 11 Plus tutoring slots with our highly-experienced online tutor, Alex Gorringe. Our online tuition is aimed at children in Years 4 or 5, in the run-up to their 11 Plus grammar school entrance test.
Alex's online classes are based on Club 11 Plus lessons and quizzes, ensuring your child is fully prepared to face any type of question they might come across in any GL-based 11 Plus test. If you are unsure what type of test your chosen school requires children to sit, please check the school's website for details. The subjects we can cover are maths, English, verbal and non-verbal reasoning, but Alex will adapt this curriculum to suit your child's needs, and the school's requirements, providing them with the best possible preparation for any GL-based 11 Plus entry test.
Alex has over 15 years' experience tutoring children for the 11 Plus test in maths, English, verbal and non-verbal reasoning, and has also spent 10 years running an in-person tutoring centre. Alex has an enhanced DBS certificate.

Our 11 Plus tutoring lessons are available to purchase in blocks of six 1-hour sessions, which will be held at the same time and on the same day each week, for six consecutive weeks. In addition to these six 1-hour sessions, if you are booking a tutoring course for the first time, Alex offers a free 30-minute online chat before your child's first tutoring session. The aim of this chat is to get to know both you and your child, to have a clear understanding of your tutoring goals, and to iron out any technical issues regarding logins, screensharing, etc.

Free Access to Club 11 Plus!
When you book a course of six 1-hour tutoring sessions, your child will automatically receive free, unlimited access to the Club 11 Plus online school for the duration of their 1-to-1 tutoring course, plus an additional week at the end. They will be able to login to our school both during and outside of their online classes, giving them access to hundreds of lessons and quizzes to enhance their 1-to-1 tutoring journey, as well as expert advice from Alex, who will encourage them to tackle the topics she believes need the most practice.
Daily Homework
If you would like your child to have daily homework, at the end of each 1-to-1 tutoring session, Alex will set specific lessons and quizzes from the Club 11 Plus school for your child to complete over the coming week. Homework will be chosen carefully to suit your child's specific learning requirements, to ensure that they concentrate on those areas that need the most practice. Your child's homework will be monitored online by Alex, so not only will she know whether you child completed it, but exactly which questions they answered correctly or incorrectly, giving her invaluable feedback when planning the following week's online class.
Ongoing Tuition
We offer seven 6-week courses each year, six of which are during term-time, and the seventh over the school summer holidays. If you book back-to-back courses, your child will effectively have ongoing tuition throughout the year, with 1 or 2 week breaks for half-terms, Christmas, Easter and Summer, and will have uninterrupted free membership of the Club 11 Plus school. Courses are available to book 1-year in advance, though the slots for the 30-minute online introductory chats don't become available until closer to the start of each course.
Our Prices
Each course of six 1-hour 1-to-1 tutoring lessons costs £240, which includes free membership of Club 11 Plus for the duration of the course, as well as a free 30-minute introductory chat with Alex if this is your child's first course. If your child is already a member of Club 11 Plus, we will reduce their monthly Club 11 Plus membership fee to £0 for the duration of their 1-to-1 tuition course. Payment for the whole course is made at the time of booking. If sessions are missed, we will do our best to reschedule them, but, due to a very full teaching timetable, this may well not be possible.
The Techie Bits
During their 1-to-1 tutoring sessions, your child will share their screen with Alex, allowing her to watch them as they work and talk them through Club 11 Plus lessons and quizzes. While screensharing is possible on some tablets, your child will get far more from the experience if they can sign in to their 1-to-1 lessons via a laptop or a pc.
All lessons will take place via Zoom, so it's important that the laptop or pc your child is using has access to both Zoom and Club 11 Plus, as well as a microphone and a speaker, to enable communication with Alex. It is of course also vital that the laptop or PC has a good internet connection.
All of these technical issues can be sorted out during your 30-minute introductory chat with Alex, so your child can hit the ground running when they login to their first lesson!

Shortly before the start of your child's course, you will receive a login for Club 11 Plus, giving your child free, unlimited access to all our lessons and quizzes for the duration of their online 1-to-1 tuition course.
